Purity
High levels of purity can be achieved in the
final glass. The table gives the measured contents with ICP,
most of the impurity elements were below the detection limit. |

Shape
reproduction
The SiVARA® Process can reproduce predicted
shapes up to 1 part in 10000. These data have been published
in Key Engineering Materials, Vol. 150 (1998), pp. 33-40 and
as EP 705797 |

Bubble
free
The SiVARA® Process produces a silica glass which
does not foam or produces bubbles when the material is subject to
temperatures in excess of 1700 °C. |

Linearity
The shrinkage depends only on the silica concentration
in water, not on the spatial direction chosen for the quote or on
the object produced. The data in the graph where taken from different
objects and from different regions of the same object. |

Doping
The composition of the original
sol can be modified to produce glasses doped in a homogeneous
way to produce novel material for high technology applicationS |
