| SiVARA®
Process
Is the cost efficient way to produce
silica glass objects and is characterized by:
- - - known equipment
low investment costs
- - - simple
procedure low operation costs
- - - high quality
products high added value
The raw materials Aerosil® and TEOS
inside the reactor form a colloidal suspension of silica particles,
called sol. This fluid is poured in the mould where it gels,
forming a silica network which is subject to a fluid exchange
procedure before entering into an autoclave to be dried.
A porous free standing solid (Aerogel) comes out from the
autoclave and is withdrawn from the mould to be introduced
into a furnace where the final stages of chemical purification
are performed to consolidate it to a high purity silica object.
Finally,
the SiVARA® Process is environmentally friendly, as it
is a water-based process with recycling of all solvents used
during the Gel Conditioning step. |
